Thrivent Financial for Lutherans
In order to integrate the call center and imaging solution with its back-end operations system, Thrivent, with assistance from Trifolium Inc., selected IBM's WebSphere Application Server, Enterprise Edition (formerly TX Series) on Windows NT as its transaction middleware, and Trifolium Frameworks for WebSphere as the application development tool. Trifolium Frameworks, a complete package of services and component-based development tools, takes full advantage of WebSphere's strengths by adding speed and predictability to the application development process. Developed using Trifolium Frameworks, the WebSphere-based application server enables front-end connectivity between the new applications and business-critical data, such as customer account information stored on the IBM S/390 enterprise server. "We evaluated middleware products from various vendors, but chose Trifolium Frameworks and WebSphere because of the superior connectivity capabilities to our mainframe environment. The combination met our reliability, availability and scalability requirements. It also meant that we could leverage our investment in existing business-critical systems," says Roger Howe, vice president of management information systems, technical competencies, for Lutheran Brotherhood.
